Academics
Under Graduate :
These regulations are applicable to the students admitted from the Academic Year 2018-19common to all B.Techprogrammesunder the Faculty of Engineering and Technology. By following the norms of UGC, BIHER had introduced the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) with effect from the Academic year 2015-16 and the same is revised and adopted the Choice Based Flexible Credit System (CBFCS) in the faculty of Engineering and Technology with effect from the Academic year 2018 – 19.The revision undertaken in this regulations is mostly based on the Model Curriculum suggested by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
The curriculum is outcome based. The structure of the program includes basic foundation courses like mathematics, physics and chemistry; courses in Engineering Sciences and Technical Arts. State-of-the-art lab facilities make the learning process an enjoyable experience. Periodical guest lectures, technical competitions like Symposium, National Conference, International Conference, Seminars, Workshops, Industrial Visits, Model Making Competitions, Poster Presentation, Drawing Competition, Oratorical Competition, Career Development Program and Guest lectures. Student seminars and industrial visits ensure a holistic development of students.
Post Graduate :
The curriculum is outcome based. The structure of the program includes basic foundation courses like mathematics, physics and chemistry; courses in Engineering Sciences and Technical Arts. State-of-the-art lab facilities make the learning process an enjoyable experience. Periodical guest lectures, technical competitions student seminars and industrial visits ensure a holistic development of students.
The department offers Ph.D programs in all major civil engineering disciplines, both full time and part-time. Research areas of various specializations of Civil Engineering.

Heartiest Congratulations and Greetings to all Civil Engineering Fraternities!!!….
Bharath Society of Civil Engineers (BSCE) has been functioning since 1998. The main objective of the BSCE since its inception has been to spearhead the role of Civil Engineers in bringing sustainable technological developments in various Civil Engineering specialization areas for societal benefits. In this direction, BSCE has been focusing its activities to enhance knowledge sharing among Civil Engineering Professionals viz., Eminent Academicians, Industrialists and Alumni members by means of organizing several Invited talks, Guest lectures vide Seminars/Workshops/National and International conferences from time to time to inspire all budding Civil Engineers at School of Civil and Infrastructure Engineering, Bharath Institute of Higher Education and Research (BIHER), Chennai-600073.
In the recent past, BSCE activities have been replenished and are executed by the members of the newly instated Executive Committee (EC) with a focus to motivate BIHER Civil Engineering Students by involving them with the responsibilities as BSCE Office bearers.
