About the School :
Faculty of Pharmacy, Bharath Institute of Higher Education and Research (BIHER) is a reputable institution located in a multilevel building with well-equipped research laboratories. The college offers a 4 year professional degree in pharmacy (B. Pharm.) which teaches pharmacology, pharmaceutical chemistry, pharmaceutics, pharmaceutical analysis and chemistry of natural products as part of the course. Diploma holders in Pharmacy are admitted to the II year of the B.Pharm. degree course under Lateral Entry. State of the art equipment and up to date information on the latest drugs and therapies equip the students to practice anywhere in the world.

PO1: Pharmacy Knowledge:
Possess knowledge and comprehension of the core and basic knowledge associated with the profession of pharmacy, including biomedical sciences; pharmaceutical sciences; behavioural, social, and administrative pharmacy sciences; and manufacturing practices.

Demonstrate effective planning abilities including time management, resource management, delegation skills and organizational skills. Develop and implement plans and organize work to meet deadlines.

PEO1:
To provide sound knowledge of fundamental principles and their applications in the area of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Technology.

To introduce regulation, professionalism, team spirit, communication skills, social and ethical commitment in the graduates in order to embellish leadership roles facilitating improvement in healthcare sector with a distinct professional identity, business acumen, global recognition and sustainable development.

PO1: Review Prescriptions:
The student should be able to accept and manage prescriptions in a professional manner, as well as check for completeness and accuracy. Prescribers should also be notified for any explanations or corrections to the prescriptions, as well as any ideas.

PO2: Dispense Prescription and Non-Prescription Medicines:
The student should be able to dispense the various scheduled drugs/medicines in accordance with the Drug and Cosmetics Act and its Rules. Non-prescription medicines (over-the-counter drugs) should also be supplied to patients judiciously as needed.

PO3: Provide Patient Counseling/Education:
The student should be able to effectively counsel and educate patients/caregivers regarding prescription and nonprescription medications, as well as other health-related topics. Oral and written communication skills, as well as other communication approaches, are all necessary for effective communication.

PO4: Hospital and Community Pharmacy Management:
The student should be able to manage the medication distribution system in accordance with hospital pharmacy rules and guidelines, excellent community pharmacy practise, and regulatory agency recommendations.
